Indhold
CISU invites you to a networking meeting for civil society actors and others working in the Eastern Neighbourhood countries.
Since 2022, CISU has increased its engagement in and support for the Eastern Neighbourhood. With this networking meeting, we aim to bring together a variety of stakeholders involved in the region.
The goal is to lay the groundwork for new connections and shared learning about how we can best support people and societies in the Neighbourhood countries.
Special focus on mis- and disinformation and how civil society can work to counter it
Des- and misinformation plays a huge role in the Eastern Neighbourhood countries today - and therefore we are happy to present two inspirations talks on that topic during the meeting.
Programme - Dis- and misinformation in the Eastern neighboring countries – a look into the actors and methods of the information war:
- Welcome and introduction of participants, organisations, and projects
- Presentation by Media Expert Leif Lønsmann on "Des- og Misinformation. Case: Ukraine" Leif Lønsmann is a journalist and former Head of Programming and Radio Director at DR. Lønsmann has many years of experience training journalists in all neighboring countries and, for CISU, has mapped the mis- and disinformation landscape in Ukraine.
- Presentation by Tigran Amiryan, Armenia, "The role of culture in countering des- and misinformation". Tigran Amiryan is the founder of the Cultural & Social Narratives Laboratory (CSN Lab) in Armenia – a cultural institution working across sectors, engaged in regional conflict transformation, and connected to international networks in memory studies and cultural rights. He is also the leader of the ICONx network supported by the Danish Cultural Institute.
- Exchange of experiences and networking
Baggrundsmateriale
ICON× (Independent Cultural Organisations Network) is a network of independent cultural organisations from the Eastern Neighbourhood countries, established in 2020 with the support of the Danish Cultural Institute. The network promotes dialogue, co-creation, and transnational collaboration to strengthen democracy, human rights, and freedom of expression through culture. ICON× connects local and regional cultural actors with each other and with the international cultural landscape, particularly within the EU, and works on themes such as gender equality, social and environmental justice, migration, and cultural rights. Through a decentralised and participatory approach, the network contributes to more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable cultural communities.
The meeting will mainly be in English, but we will adapt as needed to accommodate people, who prefer to speak Danish.
DANSK: Mødet afholdes på engelsk som udgangspunkt, men vi tilpasser gerne, hvis du foretrækker dansk.
