Speakers

Jørgen Henriksen (PhD, Animal Production) has 30+ years’ experience in planning, formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of livestock, agricultural, dairy, food value chains, and rural development projects, mainly in Africa. Has been involved in on-farm research concerning dairy herd fertility, worked with FAO in Kenya and HQ in Rome; Associate Professor in Denmark and Zimbabwe, Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (DANIDA). Now runs HENRIKSEN ADVICE and has contributed to livestock and dairy policy development papers and notes, review and appraisal missions and technical assistance to IFAD, DANIDA, WB, FAO, EU. 

Mette Villekær is Project and HR Director at Organic Denmark (Økologisk Landsforening). She works with international development programmes in East Africa, including ESFROMA and RIWAH, with a particular focus on collaboration between civil society organisations, member-based organisations, private sector actors, and public authorities. Her work includes stakeholder management, capacity development, partnership building, and support for organisational development, fundraising, advocacy, and sustainable food systems.

Claire Atukunda is a PhD scholar in Public Administration and Management at Kabale University, under the Political Economy of Local Food System Governance research Project. Her doctoral research focuses on food security governance, examining fisheries governance interventions and their implications for food security in fishing communities on Lake Victoria in Uganda and Tanzania. She holds an MSc in Food Security and Nutrition from Gulu University and a BSc in Human Nutrition from Makerere University. Claire has extensive experience in civil society-led food system strengthening and advocacy through her work as a Program Manager of Food Governance at the Food Rights Alliance in Kampala.
