CISU is independently verified against the Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS) for its humanitarian, development and advocacy mandates since 2022. The verification processes are conducted by HQAI, an independent auditor for the humanitarian and development sector.

HQAI auditors measures whether CISU makes continuous progress in applying our CHS Commitments. The audit includes a thorough process of document checks, reviews of practices as well as interviews with staff, affected communities and other local stakeholders. A detailed audit report summarises the findings and will helps CISU improve its practices. Independent quality assurance is a 4-year cycle and requires that the most serious weaknesses in the application of the CHS are eliminated within that period.
