Nepal Is Rising with Gen Z. Now Young People Are Building Their Own Community

In September 2025, young Nepalese took to the streets to protest corruption, nepotism, and a lack of opportunities. The protests helped topple the government and brought attention to a generation demanding a say in the country’s future. In the Nepalese town of Bardaghat, Rajan Pandey and other young people also feel the frustration over limited opportunities. They want to create a youth center where young people can meet, support one another, and find direction in life. Six young people from Huset Lucerna in Holbæk have helped them take the first steps. When they returned to Denmark, they brought Nepal with them-through a photo exhibition, a documentary, Nepali food, and conversations about what it means to be young.

Josephine used to live in hiding. Now she bikes to school every day

In Tanzania, children with disabilities are still struggling to gain access to school and a sense of community. Through HOPErunners, young people in Denmark are running to support the cause, while local advocates are working hard to help children like Josephine Focus step out into the world and into school.

Apprentices Experience Peace and the labor union in Colombia—Then an Earthquake Strikes

Young tradespeople in Denmark can learn a lot from young people active in the labor movement in Colombia. On a peace tour, a group of young apprentices from Rør og Blik Ungdom (apprentices and young skilled workers in the Youth Wing of the Plumbers’ and Sheet Metal Workers’ Union) explored what they could bring home from the Colombian youth’s work for peace and professional development, but an earthquake struck in the middle of the trip.
