People’s Participation in Local Governance (PPLG) seeks to enhanced efficient service delivery through rural citizen meaningful engagement in public participation dialogue forums with duty bearers and elected leaders in Ugunja and Ugenya areas of Siaya County of Kenya. The background of this project is that people of Ugenya and Ugunja areas face the challenge of poor service delivery, yet development budgets are allocated every financial year. The project will facilitate a core group of 50 RUDECO members to spearhead the main project activities that shall include citizen public participation dialogue forums with duty bearers and elected leaders. The ultimately intended change resulting from the project is a sustained culture of ongoing engagement between citizens and their leadership at the ward and county level regarding decisions related to development and service delivery.
