This proposed 6 month intervention will respond to 8000 flood affected persons in communities of Northern Bahr El Ghazal, South Sudan. The overall objective is to save lives and improve health, protection and wellbeing. The intervention will meet urgent and vitally necessary WASH and protection needs of the targeted vulnerable communities through provision of safe adequate water at an average walking distance of 500 m from HHs. The design of the borehole platform makes it accessible to persons with disability. The proximity of the water points to the beneficiaries mitigates GBV related issues, burden of looking for water by women and girls is reduced, and the girls will have time for other activities like attending classes. Campaigns on GBV through focus group discussions targeting women, girls, men and boys will help mitigating GBV risks among women and girls. The beneficiaries are equally sensitized on good practices of hygiene and sanitation decreasing susceptibility to hygiene and sanitation related diseases.
