The overall objective of the programme is that “vulnerable children are protected from abuse and exploitation”. To this end the programme applies a three-pronged strategic framework to achieve immediate and long-term solutions. More specifically, the programme contributes to 1) improve access to justice for child survivors of abuse and exploitation; 2) strengthen child safeguarding actions of government agencies and educational institutions; 3) create safe communities free from harmful norms and practices affecting children. Key outcomes of the programme include strengthened justice systems with increased capacity to ensure justice and protect child survivors during the criminal justice process. It includes improved implementation of safeguarding policy frameworks at local levels and strengthened safeguarding measures implemented by relevant governments agencies and schools. Finally, it includes that churches and community stakeholders are countering harmful norms in communities.
