BeeProsper Phase II aims to strengthen livelihood opportunities for rural youth in south-western Uganda through climate-resilient beekeeping linked to conservation and practical learning. The project targets 250 youth aged 15–35, organised in 10 new and 15 existing groups in communities neighbouring Imaramagambo Forest and Queen Elizabeth National Park, as well as students in three local schools. Building on results from BeeProsper Phase I, the project combines practical skills training, collective organisation, and market access. Key activities include strengthening youth groups in sustainable beekeeping and value addition, establishing a youth-managed BeeProsper Hub for aggregation, marketing and knowledge sharing, and using school-based Community-Based Beekeeping Training Hubs (COBETHs) for hands-on climate and biodiversity learning. The project contributes to improved income opportunities for youth, strengthened local civil society, and reduced pressure on vulnerable ecosystems.
