The project based in Arusha, Tanzania addresses gender-based violence and female genital mutilation by working with two primary target groups: women and girls who have experienced GBV and FGM, and relevant NGOs focused on prevention. It aims to improve lives through language lessons, vocational skill development, and psychosocial support for survivors, integrated over the project’s 18-month duration. A network of NGOs will collaborate to strengthen preventive efforts and share practices. The project will also engage local government and communities through advocacy, including outreach programs, and a conference. These activities include Health Integrated Multisectoral Development and other stakeholders, with a focus on capacity building, creating a sustainable impact. Monitoring and evaluation will be carried out jointly by the project partners, HIMD and Education Development Tanzania, to track the success of activities and their long-term impact on survivors and prevention efforts.
