The intervention will make provision of life saving solutions for 13,494 IDPs in 2 targeted Kebeles in Dahas district, Borena Zone by mitigating the effects of displacement and contribute to early recovery for the targeted IDPs through 1) providing immediate clean drinking water for household consumption 2) provide 10 water points (boreholes with hand pumpes) as sustainable water sources 3) Improve health conditions through hygiene and sanitation campaigns and 4) provide non food items to the most vulnerable population. Involving the local community in the implementation process creates ownership. In addition, hygiene awareness campaigns increases the community understands of their own role in maintaining their own health. Drilling boreholes will strengthen local capacity by training for maintenance and water management committees.
