Dawe Serar Community Emergency Relief Project is planned to be implemented in Dawe Serar district which is located at 743kms south east of Addis Ababa in Bale Zone of Oromia Regional State. The project is prepared in partnership with Promissio to respond to the effects of the continued drought in the region. The overall objective of the project is to provide adequate and vital assistance to affected community members through increasing access to supplementary food. The project target beneficiaries are severely affected community groups including malnourished children and pregnant and lactating mothers. In order to reach the beneficiaries and meet the objective stated the following activities will be made: Purchase and provision of supplementary food and edible oil to the target beneficiaries, training on disaster risk reduction for 40 government stakeholders and undertaking vulnerability assessment. The project will be coordinated by the EECMY-DASSC Wabe Batu Synod Branch Office in Dodola and will be implemented on site by assigned EECMY-DASSC staffs. Monitoring and evaluation will be done together with representatives of the beneficiaries and from government sectors at district and zonal level
