Resume

The purpose is to improve climate resilience of poor vulnerable communities in the drought stricken eastern Kenya, by focusing on training in and improvement of access to water through piloting of water conservation, harvesting and management as well as active adaptive grazing land/pasture management. Prior training will enable local communities to take part in the implementation and form committees to manage and regulate access and use of their water, wetlands, and pastures. In parallel, comprehensive training in lobbying and advocacy for community representatives is done to enable them to influence county integrated development plans with budgets, and guiding policies, to contain concrete climate change adaptation activities improving local communities’ livelihoods, while the local partner will be lobbying to push for inclusion of climate change adaptation at national level policies to also be reflected in finance bill allocations reaching poor and vulnerable communities.
