Proposed rapid response is focused on providing emergency relief assistance to the most vulnerable groups among coastal community in Lasqoray district. The 3000 people (500 families) who have been evacuated to the 3 locations of Durduri, Milixo and Ulxeyd villages will be assisted in this intervention. The result of the last need assessment from 21st december indicate that the affected populations' immediate need was food and shelter. Al-Rahma has no experience in working with fishing communities however, most of the evacuated families are pastoral who have lost livestock during the floods. Al-Rahma has maintained good working relations with the local authorities and community leader of Sanaag district. Al-Rahmas previous experience with food distribution enables them to provide effective and well managed implementation of this intervention. The first task of the implementation strategy is to re-evaluate the needs of the targeted 500 HH. If additional information regarding their needs shall be acquired, the intervention will be adjusted to meet the new needs within the limits of the funding.
