Resume

The intervention targets the severe drought conditions in Zomba District, Malawi, exacerbated by the El Nino-induced and the aftermath of Cyclone Freddy. The focus is on providing immediate food relief and clean water access to vulnerable populations, particularly in the villages of Ntutuma, Chakana, Tangaleya, Ligomeka, and Kasambwe 1 & 2. Essential food items such as maize flour, oil, and beans are prioritized, alongside infrastructure projects like borehole installation in Ntutuma to address water scarcity. The project aims to support over 1,200 individuals, focusing on the elderly, disabled, orphans, and pregnant women who are at heightened risk due to limited mobility and resource access. This intervention is crucial for restoring livelihoods and preventing further deterioration of living conditions in these hard-hit communities.
