Overordnede mål
To create awareness about the social consequences of violence against women and domestic violence (VAW/DV) and the possibilities to combat it in sixteen Palestinian villages.
Umiddelbare mål
1. Provide RWDS and women, men and youth with knowledge about the social causes and consequences of VAW/ DV and means to act on it. 2. Provide women who experience violence with support and counseling, which can help them to better understand the mechanisms of VAW/DV and to create a life without violence. Provide access to appropriate resources and a website with useful information about VAW. 3. Make decision makers aware of the social consequences of VAW/DV, their responsibility and means to act on it. Strengthen RWDS’s contribution to and participation in the civil society response to combat VAW/DV.
Målgrupper
Target groups are women, men, youth and local decision makers in 16 villages in the West Bank and Gaza, in Palestine.
Resume
Dette projekt er fortsættelsen af et tidligere projekt, hvor LOKK, DPFA og RWDS i 2012 med støtte fra Kvinfo lavede oplysning og rådgivning om vold mod kvinder (VMK) i otte landsbyer på Vestbredden. Udgangspunktet for aktiviteterne var kvindeklubber, som RWDS har etableret i landsbyer på Vestbredden og i Gaza som grundlag for kvinders demokratiske organisering, oplysning og udvikling. Det forrige projekt viste, at det var til stor gavn at inddrage LOKKs erfaring i arbejdet med at bekæmpe VMK. Der viste sig et klart grundlag for at gå videre med en indsats mod VMK med inddragelse af nye målgrupper og kvindeklubber i et større geografisk område. På grundlag af en Fælles Færdiggørelse i marts 2014 har projektpartnerne forberedt et nyt toårigt projekt med inddragelse af mænd og unge som nye målgrupper i 16 landsbyer på Vestbredden og i Gaza.
