The proposed intervention will provide 3 months of Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) of $70 to each HH targeting the most vulnerable members of the population affected by the floods. The UCT will help the families purchase food for immediate consumption at a time when their daily sourcing of food has been disrupted. The cash will also provide the target populations with the means to afford to buy essential emergency household items lost during the floods. One month water trucking to be implemented by the intervention will provide affected population with access to clean drinking water and reduce incidences of water borne diseases. The intervention will mitigate imminent danger of death and other diseases linked to hunger and consumption of contaminated water and thus protect the lives of the flood-affected and displaced population in Beledweyne district. The assistance will take into consideration the protection needs of women and the safeguarding and protection of children.
