Resume

The Green Jobs project aims to reduce youth unemployment and promote environmental sustainability in Soroti, Uganda, by equipping out-of-school and unemployed youth with practical skills in green technologies and livelihoods. Through the formation of five Community-Based Environmental Clubs (CBECs), youth will receive hands-on training in areas such as biogas production, briquette making, composting, and green crafts. The project also supports financial empowerment through Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) and strengthens youth voices in policy through a trained Youth Policy Task Force. In collaboration with local leaders, CSOs, and government bodies, the project fosters community-driven solutions to unemployment and climate challenges. The intended change is a more economically empowered, environmentally conscious youth population actively engaged in green enterprises and local governance.
