The intervention will address the drought emergency in WASH, FSL and Health. 2,100 persons (524 families) of the indigenous Pukina Nation (Aymara-Quechua) in Pelechuco, Apolobamba will be assisted directly. Water relief and supply systems for people and for the survival of camelid livestock and wildlife. Livestock will receive veterinary treatment and feed. Communities will receive food relief and inputs to recover their food security. Primary emergency health care will be provided to treat diseases caused by the lack of adequate water for human consumption. Vulnerable groups such as children, youth, women and elderly will receive special attention to strengthen their chance of recovery and participate in community drought mitigation planning and decision-making. Schools in the area will have rainwater harvesting systems installed and receive first aid kits to mitigate diseases in children.
