The northern parts of Nepal where our project region Helambu lies, is likely to receive 35% to 60% more rainfall than last year. The anticipated humanitarian crisis is floods and landslides in the Helambu-Melamchi region due to the excessive rainfall exacerbating the damages caused from last monsoon. In the Helambu and Melamchi of Sindhupalchowk district, seven people had died and more than 60 people went missing, 260 houses were damaged and more than 600 people displaced from the flooding on the 15th of June, 2021 . This year a hard monsoon is again predicted- this intervention has identified the most vulnerable groups in the area ,they will be assisting them in preparing for the awaited disaster.
