Resume

The intervention seeks funding to support Congolese refugees affected by conflict, who have recently arrived at the Nakivale Refugee Settlement due to the escalating violence and intensified attacks by the M23 armed group in Goma, eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The Nakivale Refugee Settlement, located in the Isingiro district of southwestern Uganda, and currently accommodating 215,417 individuals, with over 50% of the internally displaced persons (IDPs) originating from DRC. The settlement has three zones: Rubondo, Base Camp, and Juru. The proposed intervention will be implemented in the Rubondo zone, where most of the newly arrived IDPs have been settled. The newly arrived individuals urgently require food, non-food items (NFIs), hygiene products, healthcare, and shelter. Afrah aims to target 3,000 of the most vulnerable IDPs providing them with food assistance and hygiene products.
