This six-month project addresses Georgia's deteriorating environment for LGBTQ+ people driven by anti-LGBTQ+ legislation, government hate speech, and restrictive NGO laws. Through an informational communications campaign, bi-monthly Equality Academy sessions for local community members, and monthly coordination meetings between local LGBTQ+ organizations and activists, Equality Movement will work to boost the visibility of LGBTQ+ people online, equip at least 30 local activists with critical knowledge needed to continue their work, and strengthen the relationships between Georgian LGBTQ+ activists and organizations. The intended change is to sustain public visibility of LGBTQ+ people and issues in Georgia and an increased collaboration among local community members and organizations.
