In this project, Women Fund Sukhumi and Danner aim to strengthen local responses to violence against women in Western-Georgia by improving support services, enhancing economic opportunities for survivors of violence, and engaging local communities to be supportive and empowering. Through training of frontline staff, the project will ensure that survivors receive trauma-informed, high-quality support. Tools for linking economic empowerment initiatives with the specific needs of survivors will be developed, helping survivors achieve financial independence, and thus tackling one of the biggest barriers for breaking free from violence. The project will work with local communities to strengthen referral mechanisms and reduce stigma, ensuring that survivors are supported rather than silenced. Through these efforts, survivors will be empowered through timely and qualified support and experience strengthened local communities supporting them in breaking free of violence.
