Overordnede mål
The overall objective of this intervention is to advocate for women's rights and to protect the most marginalised and vulnerable female societal group in Sierra Leone -sex workers.
Umiddelbare mål
There are four immediate objectives of this intervention. (i) Secure protection against STI's and gender based violence; (ii) increase knowledge and create awareness on rights and gender equality; (iii) female empowerment through life skills training; and (iv) strengthening of networks for impact.
Målgrupper
There are several target groups connected to the intervention, four primary and one secondary. The four primary are male sex customers, law enforcement, personnel at nightclubs and sex workers. The secondary target group is the general public in Freetown.
Resume
This intervention seeks to make a positive impact on the lives of sex workers and vulnerable women/girls in Freetown, Sierra Leone. The main purpose is to advocate for women's rights and reduce gender-based violence and the spread of STI's. There are four objectives in the intervention: (i) secure protection against STI's and gender-based violence, (ii) increase knowledge on women's rights and create awareness on gender equality, (iii) increase female empowerment through life skills training, craftsmanship and safe house model, and (iv) strenghten networks and collaboration to maximise impact of intervention. The primary target groups are sex workers, vulnerable women/girls including 7-10 year old girls, male sex customers, local law enforcement, bouncers and managers at nightclubs. The main activities are sensitivity seminars incl. (PSEAH orientation), radio campaigns, outreach activities (door-to-door), education/training programs for sex workers/women and network events.
