Resume

This project aims to enhance community income and food access in Mendekelema, Sierra Leone, through citizen-led solar-powered cooling storage. In the short term, it will reduce post-harvest losses by 40%, increase produce quality, and improve market infrastructure. Long-term, it promotes scalable solar solutions for off-grid communities across the Global South. Activities include building a cooling facility, training farmers in resilient crops and storage, offering solar power education, and creating a model for future replication. The project builds on prior successful solar initiatives with SEND, aiming to impact 1,500 farmers while fostering community-driven sustainability and energy independence.
