Guryasamo and SHiFAT have planned to respond to the current emergency situation at Toogdheer region where strong hoppers and swarms devastated harvest and animal grassing folders (Annex A). Guryasamo and SHiFAT are proposing three months of Livelihood Emergency intervention to meet the immediate needs of 600 HH. We will provide Unconditional food voucher as well as unconditional animal feed assistance for 3600 vulnerable people. The specific areas we are targeting in the affected communities are districts Burco in Toogdheer region. The desert locust affected areas (Breeding and invasion areas) we will target are: (Villages: Dagoshey, Hoppers, Haraddagubatixi, Nasiye and Waraabe). With our prior experience in terms of having successfully fulfilled four previous calls with DERF (one ongoing call) we are confident of using our knowledge, network and vast experience to support the vulnerable people affected by the Locus divesting villages in Togdheer region Somaliland.
