Resume

Drawing inspiration from the Scandinavian udeskole model, this project strengthens the integration of outdoor learning within Uganda’s primary school system by focusing on institutional uptake rather than short-term demonstration. Building on lessons from the Environment Awareness & Out-schooling Demonstration Program (EODP), it addresses gaps in teacher ownership, administrative support, and structured guidance needed to sustain outdoor learning in regular school practice. The project targets teachers, school leaders, Parent–Teacher Associations, and district education stakeholders in five underserved primary schools in Wakiso District. Participants receive context-appropriate tools, training, and mentoring to design and deliver curriculum-linked outdoor learning aligned with national standards. Children benefit indirectly through improved learning quality, wellbeing, and engagement in educator-led outdoor activities embedded in daily school routines.
