„WatchDog.md” Community for Advocacy and Public Policies

Organisation is active since 2017 WatchDog.MD Community is a Moldova-based think tank with extensive experience in combating disinformation and false narratives. Over the past years, WatchDog.MD has become a leading civil society organization in strengthening democratic resilience, countering malign influence, and fostering critical thinking across the Republic of Moldova. Established in 2017, WatchDog.MD has successfully implemented over 60 projects, with expertise spanning strategic communication, public policy, justice reform, security and defense, sociology, and energy. The organization combines in-depth research, media production, and targeted advocacy to expose manipulative narratives, counter internal and external threats, and support Moldova’s reform agenda. Since its founding, WatchDog.MD has been actively monitoring governance and working closely with both national and international actors. It has consistently followed electoral processes and institutional reforms, ensuring transparency and accountability in public life. As disinformation efforts intensified to distort democratic choices, the organization placed the exposure of false narratives at the core of its strategic mission, contributing significantly to civic resilience and the development of a healthier informational environment. In the past five years, WatchDog.MD has implemented major projects focused on counter-propaganda, fostering public debate on policy issues, promoting women’s participation in public decision-making, building a civic local watchdog network, and supporting diaspora activism. The organization’s strategic objective in the coming years is to protect Moldova’s democratic institutions from hostile influence by enhancing public resilience and promoting evidence-based policy solutions.
