Peace for Conservation

Peace for Conservation (PFC) is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization based in Mwanza Tanzania, registration number 00NGO/R2/000394, duly registered on 3rd July 2015 under the Non-Governmental Organization Act, 2002. PFC aspires to engage the communities in conserving wildlife and wild places, mitigate human-elephant conflict, improve community health, promote healthy environments, and alleviate poverty at the grassroots level through the growth of solid improved community livelihood opportunities in Tanzania. Peace for Conservation operate activities aligned with conservation education and livelihood opportunities: Our focus: Participatory approaches, community benefits and awareness raising. We use i) Soccer for conservation (Tokomeza Ujangili), ii) Dance for conservation and iii) Comedy for conservation: as a tool for social change among youth and other community members through education, anti-poaching campaigns, creating awareness of human-elephant conflict mitigation. PfC also operates the Lamadi wash project to construct a private toilet for youth, and donate wheelchairs to people with physical disability (75 wheelchairs have been donated, the goal is 100).
