Armenian Progressive Youth (APY)

Armenian Progressive Youth (APY) was founded in 2009 in Yerevan, Armenia by a group of young civic activists aiming to strengthen youth participation in democratic, social, and economic life. Over the years, the organisation has grown into a nationally and internationally active youth organization implementing hundreds of local, regional, and international projects and building partnerships with European, UN, and civil society institutions. APY has expanded its work across Armenia, particularly targeting rural communities, marginalised youth, displaced populations, and young people with fewer opportunities. APY’s mission is to support, engage, and empower young people so they can actively participate in decision-making processes, drive community development, and contribute to democratic and socio-economic progress. The organization focuses on: • Promoting active citizenship and democratic participation • Strengthening youth leadership and civic engagement • Advancing economic empowerment and employability • Supporting social inclusion and equal opportunities • Building sustainable youth ecosystems and community-based youth work Today, APY is recognized as one of Armenia’s leading youth civil society organisations, working to create inclusive opportunities for young people and to strengthen youth-driven democratic development locally, nationally, and internationally.
