INFORMATION CENTRE ON DISABILITY

ICD was in 1998 by disabled professionals with the goal of researching, documenting, publishing and broadly disseminating information concerning disabilities in the country. Since the establishment, ICD has informed people with disabilities on their rights, and conveyed the message to policy and decision makers, planners and the entire population on the need for attitudinal, environmental and institutional change towards this group. With its vast experience in working at the national level with policy makers, ICD will play a significant role in engaging policy makers at the national level advocating for the implementation of IE policies at the national level. ICD will be instrumental in documenting lessons learnt in a systematic way and carry out Operational research as evidence-based support to engage the policy makers on comprehensive IE policy review and implementation on the national level. ICD conduct research on Disability related matters, advocating for the human rights for Persons with Disabilities, Economic empowerment for Persons with Disabilities and the promotion of the concept of inclusive education.
