The Leprosy Mission Nigeria (TLMN) was founded in 2001, committed to eradicating leprosy and NTDs, and empowering those affected by the diseases. TLMN has grown into a leading civil society organization focused on comprehensive leprosy and NTD control, rehabilitation, and social inclusion. Key Activities and Objectives: 1. Advocacy and Awareness: TLMN combats stigma and discrimination through public education, community engagement, and rights-based advocacy. 2. Healthcare and Treatment Support: TLMN facilitates access to diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation services in partnership with Nigerian health authorities and international partners. 3. Social Reintegration: Through vocational training, education, and livelihood support, TLMN promotes reintegration and self-sufficiency for persons affected by leprosy and NTDs. 4. Human Rights and Legal Support: TLMN protects the legal and social rights of affected persons, addressing discrimination and promoting equitable access to opportunities. 5. Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR): TLMN provides rehabilitation services tailored to the needs of persons with leprosy and NTD related disabilities, including physiotherapy, prosthetics, and community support. 6. Research and Data Collection: TLMN collects and analyses data on leprosy and NTD prevalence, treatment outcomes, and social impact to inform strategy and improve interventions. TLMN collaborates closely with TLMI, WHO, ILEP, NGDO, the Government of Nigeria, and other stakeholders to ensure an integrated, effective response to leprosy and NTDs in Nigeria. Its work embodies a HRBA to strengthen civil society, give voice to marginalized populations, and promote democracy.
