Tanzania Home Economics Organisation (TAHEA Mwanza)

Tanzania Home Economics Association (TAHEA) is a Professional National Non-Government Organization (NGO’s) found in1980 and registered under the Tanzania Society Ordinance with its registration number SO.6179, attained a certificate of NGO Compliance No. 1732 in 2006 under NGO Act of 2002. The Tanzania NGO Act of 2002, NGO regulations of 2019 Code of conduct required all NGOs to re-register and have been re-registered in 2022 as Tanzania Home Economics Organization with registration number 00NGO/R/3129 which becomes our new organization reference now to operate in all regions of Tanzania Mainland. Originally TAHEA’s work focused in schools, and colleges promoting home economics as a profession, the organization has evolved to address broader development issues, currently, its primary activities include education, early childhood development, agriculture, climate change mitigation, health and nutrition, and habitat. Research, microfinance, gender, HIV/ AIDS and environment are cross-cutting issues. We advocate for change through partnerships and networks.
