DGI Nordsjælland

DGI Nordsjælland is one of DGI’s regional organizations, representing 601 local sports clubs and associations with more than 179,000 active members across 11 municipalities in North Zealand. At the national level, DGI is one of Denmark’s largest grassroots sports organizations, representing 6,751 sports clubs and associations with nearly 2 million active members across Denmark. The organization works to strengthen grassroots sport, volunteering, community participation, and inclusive access to physical activity. Its activities include club development, volunteer training, partnerships with municipalities and civil society organizations, and the development of innovative projects promoting health, well-being, and social inclusion. DGI Nordsjælland has extensive experience in engaging children and young people, including vulnerable groups, through sports and community-based activities. The organization also participates in international partnerships and EU-funded projects focusing on youth engagement, inclusion, and the development of civil society.
