Ghana Food Movement is a youth-driven, independent organization that works to promote sustainable food systems, local ingredients, and food entrepreneurship in Ghana. HOME | Ghana Food Movement The movement connects chefs, farmers, food producers, entrepreneurs, and food enthusiasts who are passionate about strengthening Ghana’s local food culture and fostering sustainable approaches to food production and consumption. Ghana Food Movement creates spaces for young people to learn, collaborate, and innovate around food. Their work spans across food advocacy, culinary innovation, and education, with a strong focus on celebrating indigenous ingredients and preserving traditional knowledge. Ghana Food Movement has extensive experience collaborating with international organizations and networks in Denmark, Sweden, Morocco, and other countries. Through these partnerships, they have participated in intercultural exchange projects, innovation labs, and learning programs focused on sustainable food practices, culinary heritage, and youth entrepreneurship. With its strong local presence and a broad international network, Ghana Food Movement plays a leading role in advancing discussions on food systems transformation in Ghana and beyond, and they serve as a platform for young changemakers to engage with the Sustainable Development Goals (especially SDG 12 on responsible consumption and production). ACTIVITIES Ghana Food Movement successfully managed to attract funding to open THE KITCHEN in 2024 through a grant from the Chocolonely Foundation and a crowdfunding campaign.
