Pentecostal Churches of Uganda (PCU) is a registered faith-based non-governmental organization established in 1984 through Founded in partnership with Fida international and Norwegian Pentecostal Mission (NPM). It was founded to fulfill the Great Commission through evangelism, discipleship, and holistic community transformation. Over the past three decades, PCU has grown into a national umbrella body representing more than 1,700 Pentecostal churches across 98 districts in Uganda, with an estimated membership of 500,000 Christians. The organization operates under a constitution and policies and is governed through a General Assembly, a National Executive Committee, and thematic committees that ensure strategic leadership, oversight, and accountability. PCU’s vision is together we are morally sound, naturally growing and relevant Church inspired by the Holy Spirit.. Its mission is together, we can fulfill the Great commission of our Lord Jesus Christ nationally and internationally by actively influencing, caring, equipping and empowering people. PCU integrates spiritual ministry with practical development interventions. Its primary activities include evangelism and discipleship; promotion of inclusive and quality education; child protection; advocacy for the rights and dignity of children and adults with disabilities; health and humanitarian response; livelihoods and community empowerment; and environmental stewardship. Guided by Christian values, PCU serves all people regardless of ethnicity, gender, age, political affiliation, or religious background, working to build safe, inclusive, and resilient communities across Uganda.
