Kindness Umbrella to Defend Afghan Children Organisation (KUDAC)

Kindness Umbrella to Defend Afghan Children Organisation (KUDAC) is a community-based, non-profit organisation in Bamyan, Afghanistan. It began its activities in 2018 as a voluntary initiative and was officially registered on 28 November 2022 under registration number 5708. KUDAC's purpose is to give children in Bamyan access to education regardless of their families' means. Its main activity is free schooling for children who would otherwise go without, among them orphans and children from vulnerable and working families. The organisation also offers education for girls and skills programmes for young people. Its teachers work on a voluntary basis. KUDAC is led by its founder and president, Maryam Halimi, together with co-founder Alireza Najafi, and has six active team members. Its work has so far been financed by personal donations from individuals. In 2026 it launched a fundraising campaign on the Aseel platform to establish a new branch in Kabul Province.
