AEBR (Department of Women and families)

The AEBR Women's Department is under the Association of Baptist Churches in Rwanda (AEBR) and the President reports to the Legal Representative of AEBR. AEBR consists of almost 200 churches with approximately 53.000 members. It operates in 5 regions and 16 sub-regions of Rwanda. The Women's Department is managed by a board of 7 members: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and 3 board members. The board members are elected every 5 years at the General Assembly. Most local churches have a Women's committee and thee is also a regional and subregional structure with a Women's committee. The Women's Department is focusing on promotion on women in decision making and supporting poor and marginalized women in Rwanda through the Women Committee in the associations.
