Alrowwad Cultural and Arts Society was established in 1998 as a safe and inclusive space for children, youth, and women to express themselves while living under harsh conditions and facing marginalization in Aida Camp. We began as a creative and artistic environment, becoming the first theatre space dedicated to children in Palestine, embracing both performing and visual arts as tools to preserve Palestinian heritage and cultural identity. Over the years, we have grown into a comprehensive community-based organization operating eight integrated programs that function throughout the week. These programs include the Culture and Arts Program, which nurtures creativity and cultural expression, and the Education Program, where we focus on extracurricular learning, supportive education, technology, and digital education to enhance academic performance and bridge the digital divide. In addition, we operate the Women’s Program, a safe and empowering space where women are valued, respected, and supported through economic, psychological, and social empowerment opportunities. Our Health and Environment Program includes a health clinic, physiotherapy services, a diabetes club for children, and several health-related initiatives that respond to the needs of the community. Furthermore, we lead the Investment in Human Rights Program, which works in partnership with more than 35 local grassroots organizations. Through this program, we focus on capacity building, advocacy, and lobbying to promote and defend human rights and strengthen community resilience. Finally, we implement the Humanitarian Relief Program, which includes the Tekeyet Aida Initiative, a solidarity kitchen that has been operating annually for the past seven years, in addition to emergency interventions reaching communities across multiple areas in the West Bank.
