The Coordinator of Private Institutions for Children, Adolescents, Youth, and Their Rights, COIPRODEN (**by its Spanish acronym**), was founded in 1989 alongside the Convention on the Rights of the Child. It is a platform of national and international child-focused NGOs/CSOs dedicated to promoting, monitoring, protecting, and reporting on the state of children's rights in Honduras. Over 35 years COIPRODEN has become a key actor in the construction and defense of a framework for children's and youth rights in the country, positioning itself as the key forum/space within civil society that provides oversight, analysis, advocacy, and proposals on public policies affecting this vital sector of Honduran society. Currently, COIPRODEN is composed of 29 national and international child-focused NGOs/CSOs, focusing on coordination and strengthening actions to promote and defend the best interests of children. COIPRODEN has gained this position a a primary space in the Honduran civil society through the participating in many reform processes in favour of children, capacity building of public institutions, and extensive advocacy campaigns at a high level among politicians, public institions, governments and the general public. This also earned COIPRODEN a position as a consultative organization before the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child. COIPRODENs leadership and spokespersons are often invited to the media, to speak on child rights. COIPRODEN know and has worked with Red Viva Honduras (REACT primary partnere in Hn), for many years on various initiatives. Staff and leadership know each other from the child-sector and various joint initiatives. Over the years COIPRODEN has manange to attract funding from EUROPE and USA from both public and private donors.
