GENDERDOC-M Information Center

GENDERDOC-M is the oldest organization in Moldova dedicated to advancing the rights, dignity, and well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people. Founded in 1998, GENDERDOC-M emerged during a time of deep social conservatism and limited public understanding of LGBT issues. Since then, it has become a cornerstone of the country’s human rights movement and a trusted regional actor. The organization’s mission is to promote and defend the rights of LGBT people in Moldova through advocacy, education, community empowerment, and strategic litigation. Its work combines direct support to vulnerable individuals with structural change efforts at policy and institutional levels.
