Media for Environment, Science, Health and Agriculture (MESHA) is Kenya’s leading science journalism association and one of the most active science media networks in Africa. Established in 2005, MESHA brings together journalists and communicators specialising in environment, science, health, agriculture, technology and development reporting. Its mission is to strengthen science journalism and improve communication of research and development issues to the public. MESHA has experience in organising science journalism training programmes, fellowships, conferences and is the founder of the African Conference of Science Journalists, leading light in organising monthly science cafes, networking events and mentorship initiatives involving journalists, scientists and advocates. The network has implemented projects focusing on climate change, biodiversity, agriculture, health and environmental reporting, including programmes that provide reporting grants and specialised training to journalists. The association currently supports newsrooms to promote climate solutions journalism. The association also publishes Sayansi Magazine, a science and development publication that provides a platform for communicating research findings and development issues to wider audiences. Through its strong national and regional networks, extensive membership base and long experience in science communication.
