AMIS – A More Inclusive Society

The Civic Initiatives for National Minorities (ICPMN) was established in 2024 by civil activists, journalists, and community representatives with the support of the European Union and the European Endowment for Democracy (EED). It was founded in response to persistent challenges facing national, ethnic, and linguistic minorities in the Republic of Moldova, including discrimination, limited access to information and education, and barriers to civic and political participation. ICPMN’s core purpose is to protect the rights of national minorities and promote their active participation in public life. The organisation seeks to empower individuals and communities by addressing structural inequalities, enhancing access to information, and fostering inclusion in social, political, and economic processes. Its mission is guided by the values of diversity, equality, and inclusion, and it aims to create conditions that ensure equal opportunities for all citizens regardless of ethnic or linguistic background. The organisation’s primary activities include civic education programs, advocacy for minority rights, media literacy and counter-disinformation initiatives, support for political and social engagement, and economic empowerment efforts. ICPMN also organises dialogues between minority groups and decision-makers, collaborates with local authorities, educational institutions, civil society organisations, and international partners, and implements projects that strengthen community resilience and social cohesion. Through these actions, ICPMN contributes to a more inclusive and equitable society where minority voices are heard and represented at all levels.
