CISU turns 30

We are celebrating three decades as a driving force for change, fueled by strong civil society organizations. Together, we will reflect on our shared experiences while also looking ahead to the role civil society will play in the future.

Throughout 2025, we invite member organisations and partners to join the celebration. On this page, you can stay updated on all the upcoming events and initiatives.

We have organized a variety of activities and initiatives centered around the anniversary. These include inviting everyone to participate in our photo competition with a special anniversary category, share a video greeting, or share a story from your organization. We will also release a special anniversary podcast series about CISU and launch a range of exciting events that highlight the vital role of civil society.

Upcoming Anniversary Events

Throughout 2025, CISU will hold a series of exciting anniversary events. These will include both professional events and celebrations. Our anniversary events will be announced periodically throughout the year, so stay tuned.

Anniversary event: What kind of civil society does the world need

Anniversary celebration at CISUs General Assembly

26-04-2025 - After CISUs General Assembly we celebrate our Anniversary with tapas and music. Participate in a fun evening with CISUs member organisations. Sign up HERE.

Photo Competition 2025

In the 2025 photo competition, we have a special anniversary category where you can submit more than one image to showcase the changes achieved. Both individual images and before/after photos from initiatives over the last 30 years are welcome.

Send us you video greetings

Help us celebrate CISU's 30th anniversary by sending us a video greeting! Your greeting will be edited together with others and used during anniversary events and on social media throughout 2025.

The video should last a maximum of 20 seconds, and we encourage you to film your face and upper body in portrait format. Remember that the camera should face you, and make sure to speak clearly without background noise, so we can hear you.

When uploading your video through the form, you need to provide your name and where you are from. By uploading, you consent to us storing and using your video in 2025 – you can always withdraw your consent. All videos and data will be deleted in 2026.

Share a good story
