Resume

It aims to strengthen women's leadership/empowerment while fostering new masculinities as allies in violence prevention in two municipalities. It targets 70 Indigenous female leaders, sensitizing them on violence prevention thru a structured training program. It consists of 5 modules delivered via 6 workshops that equip them with knowledge/skills necessary to address & prevent violence. Thereafter, they will be able to become multipliers of prevention strategies creating their own workshops within their communities strengthening their leadership & helping other women & their community. In addition, the project engages 30 male community leaders in a formative process, exploring new masculinity models aiming to sensitize them on violence prevention against women, promoting deconstruction of traditional gender norms often perpetuating violence. The participants will be able to identify sexist & discriminatory patterns that led to violence & will work jointly as allies with women leaders.
