The proposed response will be implemented in Aw Dheegle. According to Somalia food cluster 2 May 2024, The Shabelle river overflowed its banks in Aw Dheegle, affecting 4,800 people, flooding 19 hectares of crops and damaging 250 houses the significant portion of the needs include food and nutrition supplies, sandbags, cholera kits and shelter kits, water, sanitation and hygiene as well as education supplies to cover a significant portion of the requirements. The two main outputs of the intervention are: 1) providing Blankets, mosquito nets plastic sheet tarpaulins and sandbags to the total population (380 HHs) affected and displaced by heavy rains and floods Aw Dheegle district. 2) Providing Cash Based Assistance (CBA), for 100hh who are chronically vulnerable affected by heavy rains and floods with the value of 65 USD for two months period.
