Resume

ARD plans to carry out an intervention in the village of Mintaana near Baardheere, to meet the request of our ARD-Somalia and the locals who were affected by the devastating floods that hit Baardheere municipality. Our plan is to support 100 households in the village of Mintaana, where we will provide cash-based support, seeds, and mosquito nets to 100 households. We expect that our intervention will prevent citizens from fleeing to other places where they may be exposed to abuse, especially girls and women, but also to enter into conflicts with others in relation to land and water resources. In addition, we expect that the local population will manage to cultivate their land during the next three months that our intervention lasts and thus become self-sufficient but will also contribute to food production in the region. Mintaana is a small village where there are approx. 1050 inhabitants, where most of them lost their own parts in whole or in part in connection with the floods.
