Resume

The main purpose is to improve herders’ livelihoods in Khovsgol, Mongolia with sustainable herding & market access through solid cooperative structures & advocacy. This is pursued with equal parts of strategic deliverables, organizational capacity development & advocacy. Nomadic herders live from & with their livestock surrounded by great & challenging nature that make life & living standards unpredictable. This project supports them increasing income from their yaks adding value to dairy products, increasing yaks’ milk yield & milking season, training in combing wool for sales, and creating better market access for meat sales at a fairer price. This project reinforces cooperative work, training herders in solid democratic structures, operational accounting & transparency, while collaborating with networks to stand stronger when advocating for herders’ issues. Advocacy includes communication & negotiating skills, civic education & sales preparations as well as awareness of public funds
