Resume

The project 'From Contentious to Consensus – Creating access to public spaces in Nairobi' is a joint intervention between Dreamtown and our partner, Public Space Network (PSN), in Kenya. Together we aim at improving access to quality public spaces for young people in five low-income communities across Nairobi. The public spaces in these five target communities are very much contested and conflicting interest complicate community development and improvement. It is therefore our ambition to support local youth groups to strengthen their capacity to be key player in the rehabilitation and transformation of their local public spaces. Together with PSN and local youth groups we want to work towards creating community consensus and visions for the transformation, use and management of the public spaces. Lastly, we work towards the execution of a strong advocacy strategy, that can increase the support from relevant authorities for the retention of public spaces and participation of youth.
