This intervention takes place in Freetown, Sierra Leone. The main purpose of this intervention is to educate and inform school students and teachers about reproductive health – with a perspective on adding incitement to prevent a further increase in teenage pregnancies and violent/sexual abuse thus impacting life circumstances, possibilities and aspirations altogether for young women in Sierra Leone. The target groups are young male and female pupils in 15 schools around Freetown. Over the course of 18 months, Sierra Leonean and Danish partner organisations will establish and educate 15 Peer Educator Groups conisting of 20 young female pupils. The groups are organised on democratic principles and will engage in activities in schools to foster democratic development, awareness raising on vital issues regarding women's rights and conditions in Sierra Leone. Each group will receive training on communication and presentation techniques alongside data to present to peers and teachers alike.
