Resume

The proposed intervention is to deliver Cash for Bridging the Gaps as week as well as provide counselling and practical advice to the most vulnerable people in Dien Bien province. The affected population are ethnic minorities living in remote areas far away from commune and district centres. Therefore, it takes a lot of time and effort to deliver in-kind assistance to meet their needs. Cash for Bridging the Gaps will give more flexibility and the possibility for the beneficiaries to act quickly on their needs. The method will also empower the beneficiaries to make decisions on what are the most necessary items. For survivors of human trafficking, who have experienced trauma in the past, it is easy to re-traumatise when facing challenges caused by typhoon Yagi. The counselling and practical advice provided by local social workers, who are from the same communities and have skills to work with survivors, will help those people feel better and then recover.
